Melissa Bischoff

Melissa Bischoff is a Lansing native. She has a BFA in Dance form the University of Michigan and an MFA in Dance Performance with a concentration in Dance Ethnology from Arizona State University. Through these institutions, she has performed the choreography of greats such as Paul Taylor, Peter Sparling, Gay Delanghe, Robin Wilson and Jessica Fogel, and has performed Martha Graham repertory in concert with the Martha Graham Dance Company.

She has been a member of several professional dance companies including: Happendance (Lansing, MI), 100th Monkey (Ann Arbor, MI), A. Ludwig Dance Theater (Phoenix, AZ), Ryan Dance Theater (Phoenix, AZ) and Travesty Dance Group (Cleveland, OH). Her career as a professional performer and academic presenter has taken her all over the U.S., Canada and Europe, and has allowed her the opportunity to work with and perform the choreography of Doris Humphrey, Isadora Duncan, David Dorfman, Diane Newman, Jane Gamble, Jesse Richards, Kimberly Karpanty and many more.

Bischoff currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Happendance Professional Company, Happendance 2 apprentice company, instructor at the Happendance School, faculty member in the Department of Theater at MSU and Dance faculty member at LCC.
